As
a child, I spent my summers in the countryside in Transylvania. From a very
young age, I started painting my vacation memories: the villages, the fields,
the flowers, the rivers, the orchards, the sky... During those years, I
participated in several solo and group exhibitions.
I
draw my inspiration from nature, both in Quebec and elsewhere. The vast spaces
fascinate me. My canvases often evoke reminiscences of these landscapes,
whether it's the transparent light on the river at any time of the day, the
azure white of snow, the sound of leaves and birds, the green of forests, the
deep and pure blue of the sky, or the turquoise of the sea.
My
style is neither abstract, nor figurative, nor naturalistic, but all of these
at once, including automatism. I never know what I'm going to paint when I
spread my colors, inks, mediums, textures, brushes, scrapers, and other tools.
I let myself be guided by my inspiration, my feelings, my memories, and my
intuitions. With a degree in cybernetics, visual arts have always been a part
of my life. Among the artists I particularly admire, I remember Giotto,
Caravaggio, Matisse, Monet, Brancusi, Chagall, and, more recently, Riopelle,
Colville, and Jean-Paul Lemieux.
